How to Make a 'Just For You' Card with Imagination Crafts

Sue and Kerri-Ann are back at Hochanda HQ this week with a sparkly Imagination Crafts One Day Special. To give you a sneak peek at what's to come they kindly put together the step-by-step of how to create this lovely, sentimental card.

You Will Need;

  • Imagination Crafts Large 6 x 6 (152mm x 152mm) Poinsettia Stencil
  • Imagination Crafts Starlight Paints, Bronze, Chestnut, Pink Brown and Silver Gold from the  Autumn Gold Starlight Paint Kit
  • Imagination Crafts ‘Just Pearls’ Gold
  • Imagination Crafts Repositionable Stencil Tape
  • Ink Applicator or Cut n Dry Foam or a piece of dense make up sponge
  • Pot of Gold Shine Sparkle Medium
  • 1 Piece of Acetate cut to 6" x 6" (152mm x 152mm)
  • 1 Piece Celtic Dream Card from Imagination Crafts Card Bundle
  • 1 7" x 7" folded white card
  • Sentiment Greeting for inside card of your choice, either stamp or die cut
  • Magi-Bond High Strength Glue
  • Damp wet wipe

Step 1
Tape Stencil down onto acetate around all 4 sides using Stencil Tape, start along the top edge to create a hinge and continue around the sides and bottom.

Step 2
Damp the sponge onto a wet wipe. Place a tiny amount of Bronze Starlight Paint onto a mat or plate, take up the paint onto the sponge and pat onto the centre of the flowers.

Step 3
Continue applying the colour in the same way using the Chestnut Starlight all over the uncoloured petal areas. Then apply the Pink Brown and finally the Silver Gold over the petals only, leaving the Bronze centres.

Step 4
To foil an outline around the flowers put a little blob of the Gold Shine Sparkle Medium
onto the mat, take it onto some cut and dry foam and very gently rub it over the whole stencil so it catches around the edges of the flowers.  Don’t rub too vigorously or you will take off the Starlights. Just polish gently.

Step 5
Lift off Stencil and clean straight away in warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly and store flat.

Step 6
Let the paint dry for approx. 15 mins and then cut out the flowers leaving a 2mm border (approx. around each flower). Put to one side to assemble later.

Step 7
Either die cut, punch or stamp and cut out some leaves from acetate and sponge with Starlights to create an autumnal look. Allow leaves to dry for a couple of minutes and then pat on some Gold Shine Sparkle Medium, using your finger or stipple using a stencil brush. Wash brushes straight away.

Step 8
Cut out the centre of the Celtic Dream card either by die cutting or with a craft knife and scissors.  Place onto 7" x 7" folded card, draw around the inner border edge in pencil and use this as a guide, either to die cut or cut out the centre of the folded card so that it matches the Celtic Dream cut out border. Apply double sided tape to the back of the Celtic Dream border cut out, line it up over the cut out aperture on the
folded card and stick on top so it frames the aperture.

Step 10
Stick the cut out inner square piece of the Celtic Dream card inside the card so it lines up inside the border.  Using the Magi bond glue dab tiny amounts onto the back of the petals and stick the flowers with some of the petals missing to the corners of the card.  Line them up with the corners so the cut off petal lines up with the corners and the full petals show from the front when the card is closed.

Step 11
To assemble layer the Acetate leaves and the Flowers onto the bottom left hand corner of the card as shown, using the magi-bond glue as before to stick the flowers down.

Step 12
Apply the ‘Just Pearls’ to the center of the Flowers. Leave to dry for several hours.

Step 13
To finish the card stick a sentiment to the inside panel.

Double over each of the three paper star strips and cut all the ends at an angle. Put a star strip around another star strip and fold it tightly three times around this star strip. This is illustrated in the picture. Repeat this process with the other two star strips. Step 3. Assemble the three paper star strips over and under each other, forming three double le
